No, it won't. 4chan is least equipped to handle this problem. So I've taken it upon myself to go around spreading the word of this evil everywhere. If you, too, spread the word, then maybe, just maybe, we have a chance of stopping this monstrosity.

...I had this big long thing typed, then the computer locked up and died.

The short version:
1. Will try to have a flyer made in SEDishness by monday. If not, expect it to not get made.
2. Big rant about how my apartment is flooded. And not from the roof.
3. There was 22 gallons of water. It's still drying.
4. For me to get the time to make it, I need to stop babysitting the apartment.
5. Right now it's a constant battle. Water. Water. Flooding. Madness. Water is coming out of the walls.
6. Wall in kitchen is crackling. I live dangerously. At least that's what I tell myself to stave off PTSD.
7. But yeah, flyer.
8. To IR, the ads were almost done, was going to finish them today. It was item 3 on my schedule of the day,... but the flooding mucked it up. I've only gotten item 1 done so far. Maybe tomorrow, depending on whether or not I can stop babysitting the apartment.
9. Desktop is okay, but I can't draw on it. Luckily, it's on the other side of the apartment from the flooding. That's why I can type this.
10. Laptop is okay, but I don't want to risk plugging it in with all the water in the walls.

If you do make the flyer, may I get permission to post it on their official site as the flyer to use? I think it'd be a great promo, too. Your flyer helps spread The Word, and if anybody asks who done it, which I'm sure several people will, I can direct them to SED. Win-win all around!

However, I do have to speak my piece about this, just for the sake of announcing my official stance on this:
The entire opposition is pretty sketchy.

There is very little verifiable information about most of the claims about ACTA. Most of the claims about "ACTA does this!" or "ACTA does that!" are proof-absent. The claims' "proof" is just more people making the same claims. Anything that uses wikipedia and vague reports on wikileaks as it's main citations will raise warning flags with me.

But just because several people are all claiming the sky is falling, it doesn't make it true.

As a professional in the art world, I do understand that there isn't actually any international copyright law. Most anti-copyright infringement/anti-counterfeiting action is just courtesy between nations, rather than actual treaty or law.

However, it's rather probable that they are trying to use a proposed international counterfeiting treaty as a vehicle for corporate bullshit, such as shutting down piratebay.

I welcome international copyright/counterfeit laws.

I shun governments sticking their fingers in something that should be self-regulated, like piratebay.

However,... given the sketchiness of everything, lack of observable proof, and-

• anti-acta.com is a .com, not a .org or even a .net or .info
• it runs google ads, and uses viral marketing.
• it just generally looks like somebody trying to make start an angry mob, just to sell them torches.
• http://www.stopacta.info/ would be a better resource to announce.

When I make the flyer, I'll be putting stopacta.info on it, instead of anti-acta.com, and I encourage everyone to try and verify information, and collaborate it here. More information here means less work for me digging and verifying, which in turn means increased likelihood of me helping.

I want to care, but we are going to end up with stupid BS internet filter here soon enough anyway, so I wont even be able to find sites like pirate bay (rages at the conservative liberal wankers and the fundies in QLD). Going to have to start using a tor network soon i guess, sigh.
